I am officially done! Today is July 1st and day 30 was yesterday. I am writing this on Thursday night though, I haven’t officially celebrated yet. If you missed my other recaps, you can find them here:

I will be giving an overall recap next week once I weigh myself and weigh in on how I really felt during the past month. Overall I think I felt pretty great. Lets get into this last week though.

Last week I complained I was tired of meal prepping and wanted to be done. This week I could see the light at the end of the tunnel and knew I just had to power though. We had two parties last weekend and I couldn’t eat or drink at them. I made sure I ate beforehand and just drank a lot of water. It would have been nice to have an alcoholic beverage in hand, but I really didn’t need one. Other people were not drinking as well, which made it a little better.

I did have somewhat of a cheat this week though. I had a meeting at local juice shop and got a smoothie bowl there. I made the meeting there and I knew I was probably going to get something. I just really wanted a freaking smoothie. It was just banana, avocado, and then topped with coconut and chia seeds. Everything organic and no sweeteners. If that is the worst I did, then I am fine with it.

Things I miss?

I think it is quite obvious that I miss my smoothies. I usually don’t even get them when I am out. I make them at home since it is cheaper and I specifically know what is going in them. I try not to use too much fruit and add veggies. Somedays I just don’t want eggs.

But that being said, I have enjoyed my eggs as of lately. They keep me pretty full and I usually get in some healthy fats, fruit, and veggies along with them.

Real life stuff

Since Whole30 is over, I don’t think I will go crazy in my eating. I want to follow the reintroduction part for foods and see what truly affects me. This weekend is 4th of July though, so I will be having some alcohol. I am planning on sticking to the basic framework of Whole30. Meat, seafood, veggies, fruit, healthy fats. I am not going to be as strict though and incorporate some off plan foods when I feel appropriate. We have a wedding and then a beach vacation in August that I want to feel my best on!

Also, I ate a sh*t ton of fruit this past week. I just can’t help it. It is all so fresh! And I was a little tired of eating meat. Really looking forward to see how my body reacts to beans.

  1. I’ve never done the Whole 30, but I would have to say that it’s probably the most balanced 30 days of eating/different eating plan that I’ve seen. I would definitely miss a lot of foods, and I’m not sure my body would love tons of vegetables, which is weird, isn’t it? I like veggies, but too many don’t like me. 🙂

    1. Haha! It is something to try out if you are interested in seeing how your body reactions to certain foods, especially when you do the reintroduction part. And yes, I did miss a lot of foods, but you can also have a lot of delicious things, so it balances out. I’m going to post my full recap soon!
