The one thing I can’t stop making this summer is Ninja Creami frozen yogurt! It’s so simple yet so delicious and helps me hit my protein goals while being a sweet treat.
The Ninja Creami ice cream maker took the world by storm 2 years ago. As soon as I saw it, I wanted one, but it took some time for me to convince myself I actually needed it. Once we got one, I realized how fun it is!

While protein ice cream is all the rage to make, making frozen yogurt is my absolute favorite. I used to love going to self-serve frozen yogurt places in my 20s, and it brings back lots of fun memories. Except my greek yogurt froyo is SO MUCH BETTER.
Made with 4 simple ingredients without any fillers or preservatives, is light and refreshing, and the creamy texture is just perfection. This mango frozen yogurt is my favorite version, but you could do a different fruit or leave it plain for a tart version. I love eating it as is, but you can sprinkle it with fresh fruit, granola, or whatever toppings you like.

Why you’ll love this Ninja Creami frozen yogurt recipe
- taste so much better than store-bought
- 13 grams of protein per serving
- made with simple ingredients
- macro-balanced – a good balance of carbohydrates, protein, and healthy fats for stable blood sugar and energy levels for a healthy dessert.
Ninja Creami frozen yogurt ingredients
- full-fat plain greek yogurt – I like using full-fat for more flavor and creaminess.
- honey
- vanilla bean paste
- salt – to help bring out the flavors.
- fresh ripe mango – the mango needs to be ripe, as that is what adds the flavor.

How to make Ninja Creami frozen yogurt
- Prepare your yogurt mixture. Add yogurt, honey, vanilla extract, and salt to your Ninja Creami pint container and mix well to combine. Add mangos and stir to combine with the yogurt. Smooth out the top and, if needed, bang the jar a little so it is below the max fill line. Place the lid on the container.
- Place in the freezer for 24 hours.
- Run under warm water for a couple of minutes. This will prevent ice from forming on the sides of the container once it spins.
- Make frozen yogurt. Place the pint container in the outer bowl, lock the lid, and lock it in place in your Ninja Creami machine. Spin on lite ice cream one time. The mixture will be a little crumbly. Re-spin once.
- Enjoy!

Can I use frozen mangos?
While you can use frozen mangos, I recommend fresh as they have so much more flavor and sweetness. Make sure they are ripe for maximum flavor.
How long to freeze Ninja Creami?
According to Ninja Creami, it is recommended that you freeze your concoctions for a minimum of 24 hours until frozen solid. This yields the best texture. Personally, I have done 12 hours before and haven’t seen a difference in results, but it will vary on the recipe you are making and the coldness of your freezer.
Can you refreeze Ninja Creami?
If you have leftovers, you can refreeze a Ninja Creami once it’s been spun, but you will need to refreeze it until frozen solid (about 24 hours). You can then spin it again when you want to enjoy it.

Substitutions
- full-fat plain greek yogurt – dairy or dairy-free yogurt will work. I like using full-fat yogurt for more flavor and creaminess, but fat-free will also work.
- honey – any liquid sweetener, like maple syrup or agave, can be used instead. I have not tried a granulated sweetener, but it should work.
- vanilla bean paste – vanilla extract will work the same.
- fresh ripe mango – feel free to use another fresh fruit to change up the flavor. Strawberry, blueberry, raspberry, or cherry would be delicious – the variations are endless!
