Happy Monday! Anyone watch the CrossFit games this weekend? If you did, what did you think? I haven’t been following along too much with regionals or leading up to the Games, but I do like watching it. The last few years it has gotten a little insane with what they have to do, but I still like watching the competitors compete. They are just so freaking good it’s insane. The amount of work and dedication they put into training is crazy. I can’t imagine what their body feels like on a daily basis, let along after the weekend of competition.

I’m sure they do numerous things for recovery to make sure their body is in tip top shape. As I get older, I realize just how important recovery is. After our long run on Friday, my friend and I checked out a new sauna place called CYL. It was really cool because they use sauna pods where you just get in and it’s like an individual sweat pod. It kind of reminded me of a tanning bed. You are in a room by yourself and they play relaxing music and give you a cold towel halfway through, so the whole experience was pretty soothing.

I’ve never been one to hit the sauna, but Michael loves it. Little did I know, there are actually lots of benefits to it. It helps with the detoxification process, workout recovery, stress reduction, pain relief, improved circulation, weight loss, anti-aging/skin rejuvenation, and more. It is definitely something that I enjoyed and doesn’t require too much effort (just lay there), so I’m thinking I might do it again to help recover from my long run!

Are you a fan of the sauna? Have you ever tried a sauna pod?
