Ingredients

  • 6 6-inch corn tortillas
  • avocado oil spray, for coating* (optional)
  • sea salt

Instructions

  • Pile a few (I do 3) tortillas on top of each other on a cutting board. Using a sharp knife, cut them in half lengthwise. This will give you 2 equal halves. Then, keeping them in a pile, continue to cut one of the halves into 3 equal-sized triangles. Repeat with the other half and remaining tortillas. See the pictures above for reference.
  • Carefully arrange half your cut tortillas in your air fryer basket so you can allow for even airflow. I like to kind of stack them in different ways. You might have to cook your tortilla chips in a couple of batches. The less you have in there, the crispier they will get in a shorter amount of time. Two batches are enough for most air fryers.
  • Close the drawer and set at 400 degrees for 4 minutes. After 4 minutes, open up the drawer and move the chips around. Arrange the chips again to make sure air can evenly flow through them. Then cook for another 2-3 minutes. I find 7 minutes is the sweet spot, but it will depend on how you like your chips. You will hear them jump around some as they are close to being done.
  • Immediately sprinkle with sea salt, serve with your favorite dip, and enjoy!

Notes

*I used a spray bottle for easy application. You could also brush oil on them. It was probably around 1 teaspoon total. You can leave off the oil if you want as well, it just helps them get a little more crispy, but they are still great without it. I have made them with and without oil.
